New look coming to the dome in the fall of 2019

The Minot State Dome is going to look a quite a bit different next fall. The Dome is getting new seats and a few more changes to the building. Jeremy Feller, development officer for the Minot State Development foundation, is helping with the new seating and has led the buy a seat program.

“The seats are $1000 a seat and (payment is available) over three years, so they aren’t too expensive,” Feller stated. “It works out to about $13 a paycheck.”

They are also opening up the second level on both sides of the Dome to give more access to bathrooms and make it easy to access the seating in the Dome. Renovations also include opening the third floor on the two ends for North Dakota High School State tournaments making it easy for seat access.

“When you have a state tournament or larger game, you can exit out that way as well,” Feller said.

There will be no change to the first floor, the track will still be there. The work takes about six months and will hopefully be completed by the time volleyball kicks of the 2019 season.

“It’s a six-month project from when we order the seats ‘til their produced. We’re hoping to get them in right after Minot High’s graduation and by the first volleyball game they are done,” Feller said.

The new seats will be the university’s signature red color to enhance the Minot State atmosphere.
