Local Bar Continues Homecoming Tradition

Kegs & Eggs, hosted by The Original Bar and Nightclub, continues this year in celebration of Minot State University’s Homecoming. It will be held tomorrow from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m.

“Kegs and Eggs is an annual event that’s held here for all the MSU students (21and older) to come here and celebrate MSU homecoming for the week. It’s the biggest day of the year for all the college kids to come have a great time. There’s a bunch of drink specials and games — it’s just to get outside and be with everyone,” Ben George, manager of The Original, said.

While the event is held for the college students of MSU, it is not limited to them, and many come out to get the traditional “Kegs & Eggs” T-shirt.

“There’s actually a mixture of everyone, I’ve seen the older people come here, the younger people, everyone just comes here since it’s been going on for years. Everyone comes to get that shirt for the year — everyone collets those T-shirts, and everyone supports this community,” George said.

“It’s a fun time to celebrate homecoming and get together with fellow classmates and students and just have a good time and have some drinks and kind of forget about the school week and the stress,” Marcus Quist, elementary education senior and 2018 Homecoming Royalty, said. “I don’t usually ever get there for the eggs, I’m usually late. I just go for the good company, and the beer is very tasty, very tasty.”
